Iran’s ‘One, Half’ grabs award at HIFF

Iranian short film ‘One, Half’ grabs an award at the Humboldt International Film Festival in the United States.

Iranian short film ‘One, Half’ has grabbed an award at the 55th Humboldt International Film Festival in the United States.

The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported that ‘One, Half’ by Javid Farahani won the Narrative People’s Choice Award at the HIFF.

The story of the film is about a young couple and the incidents that took place after ties between them become strained.

The Humboldt International Film Festival is “the world’s oldest student-run film festival”, according to the event’s website.

The festival “promotes the art of film, not only as a means of entertainment but also as a vehicle for self-expression and a stimulus for dialogue about social, political and cultural issues”.

The latest edition of HIFF took place on April 18-23.
